Station Beach, Oyama
About Station Beach, Lake Country, BC
Station Beach is located in the picturesque isthmus beach community of Oyama, British Columbia, Canada. it is situated at the head of lovely Wood Lake in the Okanagan Valley and is connected via a channel to its larger sibling body of water known as Kalamalka Lake. Wood Lake is much smaller than Kalamalka Lake and the water is generally much warmer. Views of station beach can be best admired from the Oyama Lookout.
In previous years Oyama was a busy little town and was a touristy stopping point on the main highway from Kelowna to Vernon called the Pelmewash Parkway, this made Station beach quite popular and busy. But in recent years with the completion of the new Okanagan Highway, the town has slowed down considerably as most people just pass on by this little gem of a village without even realizing it. There are still a lot of neat things to do in Oyama and now Station Beach is a lot more quiet and peaceful.
The beach itself is quite gorgeous and features wonderful powdery white sand and delightfully calm waters that allow you to see to the bottom and spot all kinds of fish. The water at Station Beach is fairly shallow and clean with little in terms of waves and on a calm day it shines brilliantly like looking into a mirror. it is directly across from the Oyama General Store and OFC Grill where you can get all kinds of snacks, meals, and drinks including alcohol.

More Oyama Beaches
If you visit Station Beach and realize it is packed full of tourists, there’s no need to be disappointed because Oyama has a few other beaches that you can check out. Now with the recent construction of the Okanagan Rail Trail as well as the revamping of the former highway Pelmewash Parkway there are more beach access points than ever in the Oyama area but with that being said many will remain unnamed for now.
