Beaver Lake is situated on a high alpine plateau in the popular Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. It is just one of many picturesque bodies of water that make up a chain of high mountain lakes. The lake sits at an elevation of approximately 4,600 ft / 1,400 m and is around 30 minutes from the town of Winfield in Lake Country as well as the Kelowna International Airport (KLW). Fishing is one of the main attractions at Beaver Lake as it is stocked with beautiful rainbow trout. Swimming, Kayaking canoeing, and paddleboarding are also popular activities to be enjoyed while visiting Beaver Lake.
The lake is also home to the famous Beaver Lake Mountain Resort. The resort offers family-friendly accommodations in a gorgeous park-like setting. The resort draws in visitors from all over the world and features an excellent campground, log cabins, a spa, a playground for the kiddos, and a full-service lodge. The resort also boasts scenic mountain biking and hiking trails that navigate through the wilderness that surrounds the lake. Long before the establishment of the Beaver Lake Mountain Resort, the lake garnered some fame locally when singer Bing Crosby and comedian Bob Hope visited the lake when it was merely a remote fishing camp.
