About Kin Beach, Okanagan Valley, BC
Kin Beach is a large sandy beach situated at the head of popular Okanagan Lake and on the outskirts of the city of Vernon in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. It is one of the main tourist attractions in Vernon and features a long stretch of white sand, a big playground for the kids, washroom facilities, gazebos for large family gatherings, bbq fire pits, picnic tables, and benches. The area around the beach has a campground called Sandy Beach Campground and a concession with ice cream and food.
Kin Beach has beautiful scenery with views of Okanagan Lake and the surrounding mountains. It is fairly close to town and grocery shopping making it convenient for families on a road trip. That being said Kin Beach is quite touristy and can fill up with hundreds of people during the summer months, so get there early in order to get a good spot. If you get there too late then you can head down Lakeshore Road over to Lakeshore Park and Beach, or take Tronson Road heading in the opposite direction drive and hit either Kennedy Lane Beach or Foster Road Beach.
