Arrow Lakes
About Arrow Lakes, Kootenays, BC
Edgewood is a tiny farming community located somewhat off the beaten path and essentially leads to nowhere. It is tucked into the incredibly beautiful Rocky Mountains in the Kootenays region of British Columbia, Canada. It is perfectly situated along the edge of the Arrow Lakes, which are not really lakes at all but more of a dam-caused widening of the mighty Columbia River, which is actually the largest river in the Pacific Northwest.
The village itself has only one store, one restaurant, a post office, and a seriously laid-back attitude. People have been known to move to Edgewood to escape city life and enjoy nature, wildlife, and the beautiful scenery of the Kootenays, not to mention the comparatively cheap real estate. There is a park in the village called Inonoaklin Provincial Park which is for day use only. There is a campsite in town, which rents out spaces on a first come first serve basis and you can also find camping at nearby Whatshan Lake.
