The Okanagan Lake Lookout Loop is a beautiful 3km hiking trail situated in the picturesque golfing village of Predator Ridge, which is around a 15-minute drive from the city of Vernon, British Columbia. It sits atop a small mountain range overlooking world-renowned Okanagan Lake in the heart of BC’s wine country, the Okanagan Valley.
Depending on where you start your hike you may see the Sparkling Pond which is one of many ponds on Predator Ridge and is teeming with wildlife such as turtles, frogs, snakes, and many species of birds. The trail starts off with a heart-pumping uphill climb and soon after leads you through rocky landscapes with colorful wildflowers and views of Okanagan Lake. There are several lookouts to stop and enjoy the scenery, as well as benches to have a rest. The views improve as you ascend the mountain and provide a panoramic perspective.
