Mirador Es Colomer
About Mirador Es Colomer, Mallorca, Spain
To witness the island of Mallorca, Spain, and its incredible rugged majesty, check out Mirador Es Colomer. It is one of the island’s best sightseeing, hiking, and viewing spots. It is located up in the dramatic Sierra Tramuntana mountain range near Puerto Pollensa. Mirador Es Colomer features staircases to a lookout that is perched on toe-curling precarious cliffs that are over 300 meters above the crashing sea below. The scenery is absolutely incredible and you may rub your eyes just to make sure you're not dreaming. The Mirador has unimpeded views of the bay of Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa, as well as the gorgeous blue Mediterranean Sea.

How to Get There
In order to reach Mirador Es Colomer you must take the intense 13.5 km road, which is full of hairpin corners and sheer cliffs. You will be able to catch a bus from a nearby town. Or if you have a car or a bike you can test out your nerves and endurance. I highly suggest getting there in the morning to avoid the swells of tourists who arrive later on.

What to do
Besides taking in the stunning views of the area, there are plenty of hiking trails for exploring the landscape and wildlife watching. One trail, in particular, leads you up to the highest peak on the peninsula where you will reach the Albercutx Watchtower. The tower is of Medieval origin and was built to spot incoming invaders and pirates. On the way up you will yet again be treated to breathtaking views and of course, you’ll see goats, which are pretty standard everywhere you go in Mallorca.
