Gladstone Provincial Park, British Columbia
To enjoy a wonderful vacation at Christina Lake, one of Canada’s warmest lakes, you must add Gladstone Provincial Park to your West Kootenay, BC itinerary. Neck and neck with Osoyoos Lake for warmest in the warmest water in the country, Christina Lake holds its own and is said to lie on a fault line and have hot springs bubbling into it. This brings the water temperatures up to a steamy 22 Celsius (73 Fahrenheit) during the summer months.
Gladstone Provincial Park itself is the perfect way to experience the lake in all its wonderful glory. 39,387 hectares of pristine British Columbia wilderness awaits you and your family. For camping head down to the Texas Creek Campground section where there are 62 vehicle access sites available for rent. Additionally, there are day-use spots for those looking to do a day trip to the park. Small coves with gorgeous white sand and crystal-clear water are up for grabs if you get there early enough. Anglers shouldn’t miss the chance to catch some Kokanee, rainbow trout, or small-mouth bass.
This park has no shortage of scenic views and there are a couple of trails that will lead you through the forest to some large rocky cliffs where you’ll get panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
